<p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-36930" src="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-01_batch.jpg" alt="MGU9 EV-front quarter " width="1622" height="1000" srcset="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-01_batch.jpg 1622w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-01_batch-300x185.jpg 300w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-01_batch-768x473.jpg 768w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-01_batch-1536x947.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 804px" /></p>
<ul>
<li>The MGU9 EV launches with 3.5-tonne towing capacity, giving owners the ability to tow a caravan, boat or trailer while retaining the versatility expected of a full-size Ute.</li>
<li>With a 430km driving range, the MGU9 EV offers the flexibility for everyday driving, commuting and longer weekend trips between charges.</li>
<li>With 0–100km/h acceleration in just 5.8 seconds, the MGU9 EV delivers strong, immediate performance from its 325kW, 700Nm dual-motor electric powertrain.</li>
<li>Pricing from $78,990 + on-road costs, the MGU9 EV brings full-electric Ute capability to the Australian market.</li>
<li>Built for an active lifestyle, it combines the practicality of a full-size Ute with features including a 236-litre frunk, 685kg payload and 6.6kW V2L capability to power equipment away from mains electricity.</li>
</ul>
<p>While Utes have traditionally been associated with work and commercial use, they have increasingly become an important part of Australian family vehicle ownership. The electric Ute has been designed with this changing role in mind, combining the practicality and versatility of a Ute with the benefits of a fully electric powertrain.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-36931" src="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-04_batch.jpg" alt="MGU9 EV-04_batch" width="1575" height="1000" srcset="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-04_batch.jpg 1575w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-04_batch-300x190.jpg 300w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-04_batch-768x488.jpg 768w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-04_batch-1536x975.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 804px" /></p>
<h2><strong>MGU9 EV Details </strong></h2>
<p><span style="color: #008000;"><a style="color: #008000;" href="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/?s=MG&amp;make=mg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MG</a></span> Motor Australia has unveiled the key features and specifications of its highly anticipated Ute, a vehicle designed and tested for Australia that combines the capability and utility of a Ute with the benefits of an electric powertrain.</p>
<p>Australia will be the first market globally to launch the all-new MGU9 EV, one of the first all-electric lifestyle Utes to Australian roads.</p>
<p>Designed as a lifestyle Ute, it combines everyday practicality with the capability for weekends away, from carrying bikes and camping gear to towing a caravan, boat or trailer.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-36935" src="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-12_batch.jpg" alt="MGU9 EV- range " width="1499" height="1000" srcset="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-12_batch.jpg 1499w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-12_batch-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-12_batch-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 804px" /></p>
<h3>EV Range and performance</h3>
<p>The vehicle has a 430km WLTP driving range, giving owners the flexibility to use it for everyday driving and longer trips between charges. Its 3,500kg braked towing capacity means it can handle a caravan, boat or trailer, while its 0–100km/h time of 5.8 seconds delivers the quick response expected from an electric vehicle.</p>
<p>Powered by a 102.2kWh LFP battery and dual electric motors, the MGU9 EV produces 325kW of power and 700Nm of torque. It also features all-wheel drive and full-function four-wheel Electronic Air Suspension.</p>
<p>Dimitri Andreatidis, Marketing Director at MG Motor Australia, said the MGU9 EV was designed around how Australians use their Utes.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-36933" src="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-09_batch.jpg" alt="MGU9 EV transmission lever " width="1499" height="1000" srcset="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-09_batch.jpg 1499w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-09_batch-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-09_batch-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 860px) 100vw, 804px" /></p>
<h3>Designed for everyday use</h3>
<p>“The MGU9 EV brings together the capability and utility people expect from a Ute with the comfort and benefits of an electric powertrain.</p>
<p>“It’s designed to be used every day, whether that’s for work during the week, the school run or getting away on the weekend. Being the first market globally to launch the Ute is also a significant milestone for MG and reflects the importance of Australia to our business.”</p>
<p>The MGU9 EV also offers a 236-litre frunk and a tub that can accommodate a standard pallet. Providing additional space for everyday items and adventure gear. Its 6.6kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability allows owners to use the vehicle to power equipment through the external CCS2 outlet. With three additional 2.2kW outlets inside the cabin.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-36932" src="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-07_batch.jpg" alt="MGU9 EV-07_INterior " width="1499" height="1000" srcset="https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-07_batch.jpg 1499w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-07_batch-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.ecocarguide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/MG-EV-07_batch-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 860px) 100vw, 804px" /></p>
