DENZA – Setting a new benchmark in electrified adventure, DENZA has released a first look into its debut vehicles, ahead of its Australian launch later this year. 

BYD_DENZA B5_EXTERIOR_1 Channeling the brand’s pioneering spirit, these two premium SUVs – the DENZA B5 and B8 – will carve out a new space in the automotive landscape, marking an exciting new era for Australian consumers by bringing innovation and luxury to the mainstream.

This impressive pairing is built on BYD’s advanced DM-O (Dual Mode Offroad) super-hybrid platform, combining dual-motor 4WD, patented Blade Battery technology, and intelligent drivetrain systems.

DENZA B5

The DENZA B5 will launch in two variants: the standard B5 and the more premium B5 Leopard. Both feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain delivering 425kW and 760Nm of torque through a dual-motor 4WD system.

Powered by a 31.8kWh Blade Battery, they also offer up to 90km of pure electric range (WLTP) and support DC fast charging up to 100kW.

The B5 Leopard adds serious off-road capability with DiSus-P hydraulic adaptive suspension, front and rear electrically-actuated mechanical diff locks, and a 3,000kg towing capacity.

Inside, both variants feature a five-seat layout and up to 1064L of boot space. The cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, complemented by Nappa leather upholstery, and a suite of advanced safety features including a 360º camera and 11 airbags.

At the summit of the range, the flagship DENZA B8 will be offered in 6-seat (6S) and 7-seat (7S) configurations. Both powered by a plug-in hybrid dual-motor 4WD system and boasting 450kW and 760Nm.

Both also feature:

  • a 31.8kWh Blade Battery,
  • DC fast charging up to 120kW,
  • and a 91L fuel tank for extended range,
  • providing versatility for both long-distance touring and travel throughout remote destinations.

Off-road capability is enhanced by DiSus-P hydraulic suspension as standard, electric differential locks (front and rear on the 6S), and a 3,500kg towing capacity.

Stepping inside the soft-closing doors, the B8 reveals a luxurious three-row cabin finished in premium Nappa leather. With heated, ventilated and massaging seats for ultimate comfort. The interior is further elevated by a -6ºC to 50ºC cooler/hotbox. In the 6-seat configuration, the second row is upgraded with individual captain’s chairs for added space and comfort.

Technology is front and centre, with

  • a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen,
  • a 12.3-inch digital driver’s instrument panel anchoring the cockpit and
  • an immersive 18-speaker Devialet audio system.

Safety is equally impressive, with 14 airbags and a 360º camera system providing comprehensive protection.
