Toyota launched the all new Yaris late in 2020 and included a hybrid version. We drove the ZR Hybrid and walked away who mixed feelings.
Yaris has always been a sales success with the younger demographic, a compact around town car that had enough room for a longer weekend away for two people.
The latest version, especially in hybrid mode is a great little car, stylish, zippy and exceptionally economical using just 3.7l/100k over the week. It drove nicely, was responsive and a bit of fun.
ZR is the top spec model with features such as
- 16-inch alloy wheels
- Rear spoiler
- Head-up display
- Sports front seats
- Blind-spot monitor and
- Other comfort and style enhancements.
Yaris ZR Hybrid is priced from $32,100 plus the usual costs and here is where the problem is. It just seems way overpriced and for those dollars there are no leather seats, manual seat adjustment, no heated seats, and some other features you would expect at that price point.
The new Yaris ZR Hybrid is a good car that costs too much.
