Step inside, and the Junior’s Italian character doesn’t let up. The cabin carries a cockpit quality — the high centre console, the angled 10.25-inch infotainment screen tilted toward the driver, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel that is thin-rimmed and perfectly shaped. The Spiga interior trim in black cloth and leatherette with red contrast stitching injects warmth into what could otherwise feel like a cave. Aluminium pedals and door sills, soft-touch surfaces on the dash and upper doors, and ambient lighting all contribute to an atmosphere that is genuinely premium — well above what you find in the Mazda CX-3 or Toyota Yaris Cross.

Additionally, the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster renders crisp, twin-dial graphics in classic Alfa style. The 2008 is a beautifully designed, smaller SUV with typical French flair both inside and out. Its packed with luxury, comfort and safety features.

At the heart of the e-2008 is a 50 kWh lithium ion battery pack. This provides power of 100kW and torque of 260Nm.

The e-2008 has a relatively small capacity and that reflects in a WLTP range of only 328km. Range is obviously a subjective thing. It differs with driving styles and road conditions.

It also depends on perspective. If you only drive 50km a day and charge the car every few days, then its sufficient. If you want to do a longer drive of 600 or 700km then its problematic.

One good thing about the e-2008 is that PEUGEOT states that you can fast charge the battery all the time with no degradation. Many other brands don’t recommend that.

Driving the e-2008 was pleasant and engaging, on a drive through city traffic to Akuna Bay the national park.

Its relatively light weight, and with the weight down low the ride and handling were crisp and responsive. Electric cars provide instant torque and that also makes for a sporty drive.

One thing I liked was that PEUGEOT are offering a five year discounted service plan of only $1000. That’s an awesome deal and a reminder that electric cars still need regular servicing.

The range may be an issue, but range is subjective. People will buy the Peugeot for its looks, style and quality and the range is accepted.

If you have to go EV this is a good way to go. Peugeot is for buyers that want something just a little different.

At the heart of the e-2008 SUV is its state-of-the-art electric motor and 50 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, delivering a maximum power output of 100 kilowatts and 260 newton-metres of torque. The benefits of its electric driveline include instant acceleration and a smooth, quiet ride. Charging the e-2008 SUV is easy with both AC and DC charging capability. Charging from zero-to-BO per cent via a 100kW DC fast charger takes approximately 30 minutes, whereas charging via a three­ phase wall-box from zero-to-100 per cent takes approximately five hours³.

The e-2008 SUV is PEUGEOT’s first 100% electric passenger vehicle to launch in Australia, joining the recently launched e-Partner light­ commercial vehicle (LCV).

Bold e-2008 exterior design

The exterior styling of the PEUGEOT e-2008 SUV is a harmonious blend of modernity, elegance, and sportiness. With sleek lines, bold features,

and uncompromised attention to detail, this electric SUV stands out from the crowd.

The PEUGEOT e-2008 SUV’s unique styling starts at the front with PEUGEOT’s signature ‘lion-claw’ headlamps and ‘fang’ daytime running lamps, which are punctuated by an e-2008 unique vertical, body-coloured chequered front grille with contrasting black insets.

The subtle, yet purposeful styling highlights continue to the side with e- 2008 models featuring a bespoke ‘e’ monogram just forward of the side-mirrors a nod to the vehicles all-electric drivetrain. e-2008 Active safety

The PEUGEOT e-2008 SUV prioritises safety and convenience with its comprehensive range of advanced driver-assistance systems. It’s suite of driver assistance systems include:

Adaptive cruise control with stop and go function: This system uses radar and cameras to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, automatically adjusting the speed to match the traffic flow. It can even bring the vehicle to a complete stop and resume driving when the traffic starts moving again.

Autonomous emergency braking: Which uses sensors to help detect potential collisions with other vehicles or pedestrians. If a collision is imminent, the system alerts the driver and applies the brakes automatically to help mitigate or avoid the impact.

Blind Spot Detection (BSD): BSD uses lateral ultrasound sensors which work in conjunction with the windscreen-mounted camera to cover areas outside a driver’s field of vision. Used when the PEUGEOT e-2008 SUV is overtaking – or being overtaken by – another vehicle, it illuminates an LED light in either door mirror to alert drivers to the presence of a range of vehicles including bicycles, motorcycles, cars or trucks.
